After many years as Director of Development and Marketing of a prestigious private school on Long Island, Anna decided to switch gears completely and follow a newly discovered passion-creating mosaic glass art. Anna has always been creative, artistic and a “decorator at heart”, but a few years ago, she discovered a passion for a style of glass mosaics emerging in the Florida Panhandle known as Florida’s Panhandle Glass Mosaic Art and fell in love! Anna’s family is native to the area and Anna resides there part-time. So, she’s always had a special connection there. Whenever in the area, she loves to browse the different galleries and boutiques of the many glass artists and enjoy Florida’s Panhandle Glass Mosaic Art. To experience the nostalgic feelings this art form brought to her, Anna began creating her own pieces. Once she amassed a 2,000 pound collection of glass, Anna finally had the palette needed to create her portfolio, which includes abstracts and figurative art in a multitude of shapes and colors.
With great attention to detail, Anna manifests uniqueness to each of her pieces by juxtaposing varied glass. Gorgeous crystal like Baccarat and Swarovski live alongside Murano, Depression, Milk and Carnival. She also enjoys incorporating other mediums into her mosaics such as seashells, pearls, natural stones like agate and quartz, as well as different types of china-the likes of Villeroy and Boch.
Anna enhances certain creations using mediums such as gold, copper and silver leaf, as well as hand-painted accents. While Anna’s pieces feature many fine and exclusive materials, she makes it a point to also integrate re-purposed glass. She’s even used pieces of glass light covers from a runway at a local airport! Her pieces have been described as whimsical and enchanting.
Anna wanted to share the blessing of this art form with others in the New York area. And so, The Glorious Glass Art Boutique was born. Now Anna can share with others the mosaic glass art of the Florida Panhandle.
Word of Fenimore’s stunning art, as well as her unique studio has spread throughout New York. Select pieces from her collections are on display at St. James’ award-winning New American cafe, Eat Mosaic, as well as the trendy coffee bistro, Soul Brew. Anna’s artwork is also available for purchase at select fine gift shops across Long Island and in upstate New York.
Anna’s mixed media pieces have been featured in exhibits at The White Room of Bridgehampton. Her artwork was also selected by Redwood Media Group to be a part of their SPECTRUM Miami Art show this past December 2017, ArtExpo New York this coming April 2018 and Art Market Hamptons, an international art fair in Bridgehamtpon, NY this coming July 2018.
